Why order flowers direct from a local florist ?
(I think the better question would be, Why wouldn't you order flowers direct from a local florist?)

Before I answer that question let me respond with a question to the question.
When you send flowers to someone, anyone for that matter. Do you want your recipient to receive a nice hand arranged and hand delivered beautiful fresh and full flower arrangement with fresh mixed cuts, different fillers like babies breath, wax flower, caspia and others and just the right amount of greens like leather leaf, salal or others just like you had discussed with the florist? Or...
Do you want your recipient to open their front door to find a box just sitting there maybe basking in the hot summer sun for the past 4 to 6 hours. Now your recipient gets to open the package, remove a bunch of flower stems that hopefully have healthy blooms and fresh foliage on the stems. Remove the vase (Hopefully you remembered to check the box to add a vase) and place on a space that had already been cleared off just for a special occasion like this. I mean come on, its not everyday that a lady gets "Flowers in a Box" that need to be self arranged! Ok, need a knife (or better yet a pair of small pruning shears so that you dont cut yourself), fill the vase with water, add the contents of the food packet to the water (you should have got one) and Ummmm, do you cut each stem at the same length or take the same amount off each one since they look like they are different lengths now. Ok I will cut the same off each one to be safe. Cut the stems and now just drop them into the vase, I guess! Kind of looks funny with the taller ones off to the side and then the front looks too short, maybe I'll turn it a little this way...no that's no better. Oh well it was a nice thought. Oh darn, look what time it is, I am going to be late for my appointment.....

Or, do you just enjoy the stress of chasing down an order for sometimes days that was never delivered or learn that what you did order is not what your recipient received or come home to see the flowers you ordered for your significant other looks half full and feel like you just got ripped off?

To answer the question "Why order flowers direct from a local florist".
Why wouldn't you?  But since you asked....

When you order flowers from a local florist:

You will receive real customer service, quality products, selection advice and more.

You will have the security of knowing that you're dealing with a genuine, professional florist.

You can talk directly to the people who arrange and deliver your flowers.

You will know what flowers the florist has available and if any substitutions will be necessary.

You will be by-passing any and all middlemen, meaning the florist will receive 100% of the proceeds from the purchase which in turn means that you will be guarenteed a beautifully hand arranged fresh and full flower arrangement.

You can contact your local florist to check on the delivery status of your order and they will be able to assist you immediately.

You can rest assured that you will receive a professionally designed beautiful and colorful arrangement.

You will have the satisfaction of knowing that you're supporting a local business in your community or in the community of your intended recipient.

You will never find yourself blogging a complaint the day after a major holiday (or any day for that matter) about the florist you purchased flowers from because they didn't deliver or didn't deliver the right arrangement and find yourself spending 2 to 3 days of endless phone calls and emails to try reach a fair resolution.

And one more.... Real Local Florists DO NOT ship flowers in a box for your recipient to assembly.
Instead, you will create memories like this..........
