Why order flowers direct from a local florist ?
(I think the better question would be, Why wouldn't you order flowers direct from a local florist?)
Before I answer that question let me respond with a question to the question.
When you send flowers to someone, anyone for that matter. Do you want your recipient to receive a nice hand arranged and hand delivered beautiful fresh and full flower arrangement with fresh mixed cuts, different fillers like babies breath, wax flower, caspia and others and just the right amount of greens like leather leaf, salal or others just like you had discussed with the florist? Or...
Do you want your recipient to open their front door to find a box just sitting there maybe basking in the hot summer sun for the past 4 to 6 hours. Now your recipient gets to open the package, remove a bunch of flower stems that hopefully have healthy blooms and fresh foliage on the stems. Remove the vase (Hopefully you remembered to check the box to add a vase) and place on a space that had already been cleared off just for a special occasion like this. I mean come on, its not everyday that a lady gets "Flowers in a Box" that need to be self arranged! Ok, need a knife (or better yet a pair of small pruning shears so that you dont cut yourself), fill the vase with water, add the contents of the food packet to the water (you should have got one) and Ummmm, do you cut each stem at the same length or take the same amount off each one since they look like they are different lengths now. Ok I will cut the same off each one to be safe. Cut the stems and now just drop them into the vase, I guess! Kind of looks funny with the taller ones off to the side and then the front looks too short, maybe I'll turn it a little this way...no that's no better. Oh well it was a nice thought. Oh darn, look what time it is, I am going to be late for my appointment.....
